2012 Family Engagement Summit
Nevada's Fourth Family Engagement in Education Summit will be held on May 18, 2012 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Student Union. The Summit is featuring Keynote Speaker: Eileen Kugler, author of Innovative Voices in Education: Engaging Diverse Communities and Debunking the Middle-Class Myth: Why diverse schools are good for all kids. Eileen is a global speaker on the benefits that diversity brings schools, communities and workplaces, challenging stakeholders to break through "myth perceptions" about race and all aspects of culture.
This year's Summit on Family Engagement in Education will focus on the value of diversity and engaging all families. The Summit will have no registration fees and is offered in collaboration with Assemblywoman Debbie Smith, the Nevada State Parent Information & Resource Center (PIRC) at the Education Alliance, Clark County School District, the Nevada Department of Education, Nevada Parent Teacher A ssociation and Washoe County School District.Online registration for the Summit is now closed. You can now watch a live stream of the keynote, lunch time program and ending session from your computer. Please note that you will NOT be able to attend the more than 30 workshops offered at the Summit. If you are registered to attend, we strongly encourage you to do so but if you can't please take advantage of this option.

Nevada's Third Parent Involvement Summit was held on March 12, 2010 at the University of Nevada, Reno-Joe Crowley Student Union in Reno, Nevada.
Summit Workshop Presentations:
Nevada's Second Parent Involvement Summit was held on February 29, 2008 at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Summit was founded by Nevada State Assemblywoman Debbie Smith and Washoe County School District Trustee Barbara Clark, and is a partnership with various organizations in the state, including the Nevada Department of Education, Clark County School District, Nevada Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Washoe County School District and the Nevada State PIRC at the Education Alliance.
