Strategies, Research & Perceptions (SRP) on Parent Involvement
Developed in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno – College of Education – Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, the SRP workshop is designed to help a school improve its culture of collaboration and partnership with parents. This two hour workshop provides information on practical strategies for family engagement, understanding the national research on parent involvement and the opportunity for staff to examine their own perceptions of families and a families’ capacity to support learning at home. The Nevada State PIRC can provide direct services on SRP to Nevada School Districts, and also offers training of trainer workshops throughout the year.

Frontline Communication
Based on curriculum from the Florida Partnership for Family Involvement and further developed in partnership with the Washoe County School District’s Education Support Professionals Training Program, the Frontline curriculum includes strategies for maintaining an inviting front office and school culture. Participants will understand a “customer service” approach in a school setting. They will identify strategies for providing quality customer service and effective communication. Frontline Communication, part I, is the first step in welcoming families into your school. The Nevada State PIRC can provide direct services on Frontline Communication to Nevada School Districts, and also offers training of trainer workshops throughout the year.
